As critical infrastructure sectors and other industries adopt new technologies, the digital revolution does not appear to be slowing down. The ongoing fusion of Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT), as well as the rise of Industry 4.0 ecosystems, these are opening up a wide range of opportunities and advantages.

All of the physical and virtual resources, systems, and networks that are necessary for a society's economics, security, or any combination of the above to run smoothly are referred to as critical infrastructure. India has designated seven significant industries as critical infrastructure:

a) Telecommunications (E&P)
b) Power and energy
c) BFSI
d) Transportation
e) Strategic entities
f) Government enterprises
g) Healthcare

There has been a significant increase in cyber-attacks that’s why the government has been moving with alacrity to protect their critical information infrastructure. These breaches have the potential to create wide-scale compromise in vital systems having wide impact.
